A LITTLE FAKE RELATIONSHIP NEVER HURT ANYONE . . .
Kate Massie has big dreams-they just haven’t worked out. Yet. In the meantime, she spends her days clerking for a judge and her nights fantasizing about her tall, dark, and sexy gym crush. So when she runs into him one night, she’s shocked to realize he was her shy, nerdy junior-prom date. But that isn’t where the surprises end . . .
James Abell needs a date to his sister’s wedding. So when Kate agrees, he’s relieved . . . until one little lie turns their wedding date into a full-blown fake relationship. Only it doesn’t feel fake-not the toe-curling kisses and definitely not the electricity. Neither of them is looking for something real . . . but they just might fall for their own little white lie.
This was such a fun read, and based on that alone you know that I really liked The Wedding Date!
I will be honest just based on the title I knew where we were going. Tell you what though even though I expected the story to go as it did, it did not stop me at all from enjoying it. It was a easy well written nicely paced book.
There were parts that made me really laugh, not as much as I did when I was reading Suddenly Sorceress, but enough to make have really enjoyed it. This is actually perfect to read in spring summer sitting outside with a glass or something cold and refreshing.
I have no read anything from Kelly before, but if all her books are like this one, then I am definitely a fan!
You know, it is odd but I really could identify with Kate our leading lady, we both lost our dads at a young age and struggle in terms of relationships and dealing with potential loss. It’s funny, I have known this about myself for a long long time but I actually never said it or admitted out loud. So this post takes on now a whole new meaning.
Luckily for me, there not much in terms of spoilers than I can give you guys. That is the beauty of simple stories, it doesn’t always need to be super complex and convoluted, sometimes simple is best. It works out perfectly since I am a huge believer in simplicity in general.
I say grab yourself a nice iced tea (peach for moi please) a nice lounger chair in the shade and get reading. You will not be disappointed cause I certainly was not!
